The "Work of Love" Association, Schio, is currently organising its 10th International Youth Meeting, which will be held at San Martino, Schio (province of Vicenza, N.E. Italy). Over the past years the aim of this annual gathering has been to communicate, with the help of guest speakers and performers, a message of faith expressed through music, testimony and friendship. For many young people, both from Italy and elsewhere in Europe, this has become a priority event, and sometimes an alternative to the traditional type of summer holiday. This year, too, a number of speakers who are highly committed to social solidarity and youth will be taking part in the Meeting. They include Father Oreste Benzi and Carlo Climati, both of whom will be discussing in depth various topical social problems which involve them in a daily struggle to defend the weakest members of society.

Father Oreste Benzi,  is well known for his work on behalf of the family, youth, the disadvantaged and prostitutes. He is also the founder of the "Pope John XXIII" Association, which is spread throughout Italy and deals with all forms of physical and mental disability.

Carlo Climati, is a writer and journalist committed to supporting young people, particularly by examining those negative phenomena which have a disorienting effect on them and encourage their interest in the esoteric, magic, the occult and spiritism. He is also the author of the book "I giovani e l'esoterismo" -[Young people and the esoteric](Ed. Paoline). In addition, he works with GRIS (Group for Research and Information on Sects), with the daily newspaper Avvenire and the SIR (Religious Information Service) Press Agency. He is responsible for the Press Office of the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athenaeum, Rome, and also creates radio and TV programmes.

Each of the four days of the Meeting will begin with Holy Mass at 9.30 a.m., followed by talks and testimonies. After the lunch break the programme will resume at 4 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, after which there will be further talks on specific subjects.
On the evening of Sunday 12 and Monday 13 August there will be a Prayer Vigil with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, from 10 to 02.00 a.m.
On the evening of 14 August, at 9 p.m., the annual eagerly awaited concert of Christian singers/song-writers will take place. This year the participants include: Fr. Paolo Spoladore (Padua), Fr. Mimmo Jervolino (Naples), The Spirit and Soul Singers (Gospel group from Turin), Ornella Taziani and Alice Renzi (both from Rome). The guest of the evening will be Giacomo Celentano, son of Adriano, who will present his new CD entitled "Tra noi" [Between ourselves]. On the evening of 15 August the traditional Way of the Cross on Monte di Cristo will bring this 10th Meeting to a close.
