Who is Heather Richards?

In life’s sea of emotion and tales, singer-songwriter Heather Richards is a musical creator for a recipe of broken hearts and real life experiences. The upstate NY artist has voyaged her share of life’s delights and pains-mostly lessons of the heart, and contrary to her lessons, she’s grasped even the most bittersweet of remembrances and brought them to life through her songs.
Richard’s infectious style successfully intertwines traditional country, contemporary country and modern country, respectively and brings forth to its audience a simplistic connection. Heather’s songs are a joy for their clarity and understanding and so swiftly flows from the song to the listener. In fact, all of Heather’s music comes from her own struggles, heart and pen, making her an Artists Artist in the truest sense of the definition.

In spite of having submerged herself in a business known for next to none odds of surefire commercial success, she is a survivor. Richards remains and grows in a world of music because her talent is solid and real. What sets her apart from a world where singers and songwriters are a dime a dozen is Richards stays focused on what the true meaning of singing and songwriting is all about. "It’s a gift, its not worth if you get lost in making money and being the biggest star if you forget what its really all about"!

Growing up in an environment of music her entire life certainly has played a role in helping Richard’s to develop her craft of singing and songwriting. Playing bluegrass festivals at an early age, performing in her parents band, forming into her own band, and later having two of her songs hit the hot 150 indie and major label charts together at number 23, Richards has had some successes to tell in a tale or two.

Richard’s is no stranger to the music industry. Her traveled road including living in Nashville for three years doing demo work has helped her to develop a stronger business sense but she admits her creative side blooms more when she is home. She has learned some things the hard way, but needless to say, she always dances back. She admits however she has focused more on her songwriting than concerning herself with making it as a vocalist or getting signed to a label.

Richard’s fate is sealed within her music be it writing or singing. "Music will always be part of my life’" states the blue-eyed redhead. "It’s something that lives within me"!

For Richards music is a lifelong commitment into which she has poured her heart and spirit. "It doesn’t matter if you make it to the top on your travels for if you are a true artist, you are already there".
