JASON
CARTER

Jason
is predominantly a self-taught guitarist, although has briefly
attended Master Classes with Guitarists John Williams, Paco Peņa
and John mills, at the Royal Academy of Music. In 1994 he was a
finalist in the Cornelius Cardew Composition Prize at the Royal
Academy. Between 1993 and 1996, Jason lived in the Middle East and
India where he played and recorded with local artists.
Jason's guitar style is a fusion of Flamenco, Jazz and Classical
styles. He has recorded 10 albums, ranging from Solo Guitar, to
Boccherini Guitar Quintets and Indian Ragas for Sony, EMI, ARC
Music & ASV Records.
Jason has performed throughout Central and Eastern Europe, North
& Central America, Scandinavia, Israel, Asia and the Middle
East, both as a solo artist and with various combinations of
musicians.
In the UK, Jason has performed in various venues including The
Purcell Room (South Bank Centre), The Royal National Theatre, The
Waterfront Hall (Belfast), The Royal Academy, Salisbury Cathedral,
Lambeth Palace, St. Martin in the Fields and the London Palladium.
More recently he has performed with Artists such as Nigel Kennedy,
The Bingham String Quartet, Dominic Miller (Sting's Guitarist),
Nick Beggs. He frequently performs with 'Ragatal' (Guitar,
Electric Violin, Chapman Stick / Bass and Tabla).
Jason regularly leads workshops in improvisation for Classical
musicians and is a regular performer/teacher at the Dillington
Guitar Festival in Somerset, UK.
