MARIUCCIA
SUTTI

Mariuccia
lives in Piacenza where she teaches disabled children in a Scuola
Media (middle school). She has always sung and played her songs as
a hobby, together with her friends who share the same religious
faith. However, for the last few years she has realized this
innate capacity could become an important “service”, equal to
other services, to enrich and raise awareness (to everybody not
only to her friends) of the importance of the religious aspects of
life. Her musical offering is not to be considered “doctrine”,
but rather an interpretation of various existential themes, tied
to daily life, from which a message of hope and a positive view of
life arise. Her songs also touch on the most current
“provocations” connected with every form of social issues,
using a simple language and symbolism, at times inspired by fables
and nature. She has released 3 albums: “Più di un
passero”(More than a Sparrow), “Quando nascerò”(When I will
be born), “Cose che non si vedono”(Things that are unseen), as
well as another which is almost completed and due for release in
Spring 2001. Her music is also included in many compilations. She
has worked with publishers such as Morning Star, Rugginenti, and
LDC. She has participated in festivals and national/international
meetings centered on Christian music, including many concerts of
“Il mio Dio canta giovane” (My God Sings Young), the national
festival of Christian Artists’ “Il nostro canto libero” (Our
Free Song) in1991, the Multifestival “Magnificat” in ’95,
the youth rally in Pompeii in 1997, the International Youth
Meeting in Schio (province of Vicenza) in 1999, the JMJ in Paris
in 1997, and the GMG-2000. Her musical style varies between
contemporary, melodic rock, folk, and Latino-American.
