RAFAEL
BROM

Rafael's
whole family was filled up with musical talents. His mother was
popular professional singer, piano player and composer. His father
is outstanding piano player and composer. His grandfather was
multiinstrumental virtuoso. His uncle studied classical trumpet
and was leader of several music bands. His brother was pro drummer
in many Rock bands. Rafael was born in Prague, former
Czechoslovakia (today Czech Republic) on August 13, 1952. In 1963
Rafael emigrated to Sarajevo, Former Yugoslavia (today Bosnia and
Hercegovina). In Sarajevo Rafael studied 5 years all levels of
Graphics Art, Communication Art and Fine Art in Commercial
Art Institute together with former Yugoslavia's Pop/Rock Star
Jadranka Stojakovic.
In this school they were students of well known Academy professors
and international graphics artists, one of them was Mersad Berber.

After studies Rafael worked for 7 years as Graphics Designer for
Energoinvest Corporation in Sarajevo. During that time Rafael
composed many songs and did home recordings dreaming about release
of his own 12' vinyl record album. His taste in music was very
much influenced by his friend and probably greatest A&R expert
in the world Igor Kramarenko, who intoduced him to music of groups
like: The Beatles, Abba, Led Zepellin, Yes, Pink Floyd, Jethro
Tull, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Genesis and many others. Igor
later tragicaly died in Sarajevo during bloody civil war of 90's.
In Sarajevo Rafael had 3 best friends, one was Croatian, one was
Serbian, and one was Muslim. 1979 ten days before Rafael had to
serve mandatory communist Yugoslav army he emigrated to Denver,
Colorado with help of his father Prof. Libor Brom, Denver
University Professor and Colorado Senator Armstrong. Rafael did
not see his father for 22 years. In Denver Rafael released his
first vinyl record album: "Rafael Brom I" (now:
"Dance for Padre Pio") on his first record label: Brom
Studio.
Rafael composed, performed and recorded whole album in his
apartment on 26th floor of Brooks Towers in Downtown Denver.
Album was later mixed in Colorado Sound, Denver, Colorado. This
album received a lot of airplay on public and college radio
stations in USA and Canada. Immediately after release of this
album Rafael was elected in membership of ASCAP. 1984 Rafael moved
to Los Angeles, California where he established his own record
label Cosmotone Records, Publishing Company Cosmotone Music (ASCAP)
and distribution company Center for the Queen of Peace. Released 3
more albums: "Padre Pio", "Peace of Heart"
and "The Sounds of Heaven". Padre Pio album was mixed in
Rusk Sound Studio, Hollywood, California. In Los Angeles Rafael
was involved in numerous charity and religious activities with his
friends of Medjugorje Movement, Catholic Church and Operation
Rescue. He opened two Catholic bookstores and was giving big
screen presentations on Medjugorje and other apparitions for seven
years in Pasadena, California which changed lifes of many. 1992 he
moved to Sugar Land, Texas where he released 5 more albums:
"Dance for Padre Pio" (which is contains two first
albums), "True Measure of Love", "Music for
Peace of Mind", "The Christmas Songs" and "You'll
Never Walk Alone". On request from Hollywood's Film Director
Kurt James Stefka he composed and performed original score for
Kurt's short TV movie: "Crossroads of the World". In
Sugar Land Rafael as a webmaster developed new distribution and
publishing company: marianland.com which is now one of the largest
Catholic Christian resource websites on the Internet. This website
distribute and publish finest Catholic / Christian Videos, Books,
Music and Gifts. Rafael also plans to build a Catholic Theme Park
"Marianland" in United States. Rafael is also
representative of award winning British film director J. Paddy
Nolan for Paddy's documentary videos on Padre Pio, Sr. Faustina
and Medjugorje. In year 2000 all Rafael's albums were remastered
for CD and MP3 Files by music and sound guru Colin Kennedy of
Tortuga Music, Glendale, California. Today Rafael is now working
on new album "Angelophany" which will be released in
2001. Rafael is very thanksful to his parents and friends for all
help, also to ARCO and UNOCAL Corporations where he worked
as a Computer Graphics Illustrator since he emigrated to USA in
1979.
