UNICOSPIRITO

At the beginning there's a common passion for music leading all of us to make various musical experiences (rock, blues, punk ballroom music, piano bar, chorus, DJ, conservatoire).
Each one was following his own way which made us meet by chance (but we are certain of His intervention) in S. Sebastian, a parish in Thiene (Vicenza - Italy).
There our priest, Father Lino, who 's devoting himself to the promotion of evangelization (with RnS and parish Cells method), arose in ourselves the deep necessity of playing with a different aim than that of pure fun.

In 1997 Giorgio and Johnny were the first to start thinking of a project going beyond our parish. After an initial period of search (included that of a play-room) they involved Laura, Dyana and Paolo who shared with them the same feeling for music.
We started writing texts and music (most of the songs are written and arranged by us).
Since the beginning we felt the necessity of making our music as much professional as possible, seen the great importance of what we had to say. In fact we wanted to avoid the christian message to be refused a priori or ridiculed because of a simple technical matter.
That's when Lucio and, later on, Antonio and Danilo too joined us; when we started practising again "at home", in our parish. They enabled us to greatly improve our live performance quality and our band sound research.

We sing the love of God, our Father, the light of the Spirit, the presence of Christ, our brother and Saviour, the love of the Virgin Mary.
We believe that the skill, art, enthusiasm and experience of everybody must be given to the world and that the gifts of God must be immediately given back to Him who is in any person.
Therefore the subjects are various, starting from prayers to life experiences, to meditative songs with a mantra-like rhythm (on the other end, what were our litanies but this?).

"STAND UP YOU ALL CHILDREN OF THE WORLD"
This is a verse of a song of ours and it well synthesises the reason why we play music.
Everybody tells us that "being good" is old-fashioned, that we must be practical, realistic, so far as to talk only on behalf of the "culture of death" which perceives everything positive as something false.
We believe that we must stand up, look around and, without hiding, see the beauty around us , the greatness in every person.
We believe that music is a universal language, enabling us to shout our hope and joy strongly.
We believe that it's important to be excited, to dance, to rejoice while singing and praising what we love best.
Far that reason we sing God and the divine essence in all of us.
We believe that this is the real strength moving all the world and making us brothers and sisters beyond all barriers of colour, language or religion.
Don't think that we consider ourselves better than the others, that we want to teach or like to sermonize.
But we believe in that and find it would be silly renouncing to express our ideas with strength and rhythm because of a banal convention saying that rock is music "against".
By now we have been having concerts for two years in different parishes in the North of Vicenza, finding a great interest in the people revived also by our very personal way of introducing the world of God.
At present we are working with Father Ireneo Forgiarini, who's leading a community for the rehabilitation of drug-addicts, on a project using music-therapy as a fundamental part of the general therapy itself.

In the next months we'll record our first CD for S. Massimiliano Kolbe music editions (Schio - Vicenza) given up to the action of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
