NANCY BAUDETTE

Nancy Beaudette is no stranger to the Christian music industry. In 1982, at the age of 21, she released her first recording, "I Believe". The nine original songs focused on a new found love of Jesus which she discovered on retreat as a teenager. "My whole life changed once I realized that Jesus loved me and needed me," Nancy recalls. Back in those early days, she was heavily involved in the Cor and Cursillo movements, theological studies and musical performances, but her ministry has always been centered around Liturgical celebrations where she and her enthusiastic "Celebration Choir" sing their hearts out each week. "It's really something to write a song and then hear the congregation sing it and claim it as their own. To me that's really a sign that the Spirit is in control".
For over twenty years now, Nancy has been writing music that celebrates God's presence in our lives and speaks of the joys and trials of our daily walk with Jesus. "We're Ready for the Journey", recorded in 1996, was selected as one of the top three finalists for the 1997 Contemporary Album of the year by the Canadian Gospel Music Association (CMGA). It's no wonder the first printing sold out in only four months with songs like 'Arise Jerusalem', 'Alleluia, Jesus Saves' and 'In You'…these will no doubt be treasured for many generations. Back in the studio only one year later, "Surrender", was recorded and released in November '97. It again highlights her considerable songwriting talent, and credits her with more CGMA recognition, including runner-up for both Inspirational album of the year and country song of the year 'Create In Me A Heart Like Jesus'.
October '99 brings us Nancy's latest recording: "Road To Freedom". Here, in addition to the expected quality of lyrics and melody, the musical scope has been expanded. The fullness of sound on the title track, and the sparse and gentle sound of 'Love That Dares, show that this album is a work of art bringing Nancy's music to life once again.
Nancy performs throughout Ontario, Eastern Canada and Northern United States to endearing crowds of all ages. She is often seen in concert with the Celebration Choir, but has also shared the stage with entertainers like Fred Penner, Steve Bell and Debra Klaussan. Her songs will have you dancing in the isles and growing in your faith. When asked what she hopes to accomplish in her ministry, she says, "Of course I want the message to be relevant…but my greatest hope is that upon hearing this music people will make some connection between their heart and their will, and go out and act in faith. That is what Jesus calls us to do."
