Festival “Cantos a María de Guadalupe” en México
MEXICO
DF, 6 Nov. 03 (ACI).-Con el fin de celebrar la Fiesta de Nuestra
Señora de Guadalupe y difundir la música católica, el próximo
13 de diciembre la Comunidad Roca Firme A.C. realizará un
concierto dedicado a la Patrona de América. Según informaron los
organizadores, en el concierto, que se llevará a cabo a las 8:00
p.m. en el Teatro Carlos Acerito –Mérida, México–, podrán
participar solistas de música católica. El comité organizador
explicó que los participantes deberán enviar los siguientes
requisitos: datos generales, foto y documento de identidad, carta
de presentación de una autoridad eclesial, la letra del tema (con
el título y autores), una pista de la música y playback de la
pieza. Las inscripciones están abiertas hasta el 15 de noviembre
y las participaciones serán confirmadas del 22 al 29 de noviembre.

Unity
Awards was held on Sunday Dec 12tha at the Family Apostolate
Theater in Bloomingdale Ohio. Over 300 artists from around the
world were present. The program was carried live over the internet
and will re air on Dec. 12, 2003 on the Sacred Heart Radio net

XIX World
Festival of Marian Songs
In order to foster Spiritual growth, provide incentives for art
and creativity centered around the Blessed Mother, and to
intensify the unity between Catholic artists, musicians from
around the world, Eventos Catolicos hereby convokes the XIX World
Festival of Marian Songs, to be held at the Miguel Angel Asturias
Cultural Center in the city of Guatemala, Central America,
November 29, 2002. Since Guatemala is in the heart of the
Americas, this country will be host of the II Missionary Congress
of America and the VII Latin America Missionary Conference.
Eventos Católicos was invited to hold its annual Festival during
the same week as these two very important events for the Church.
EWTN Radio Católica Mundial has been nominated official
representative of the United States and Canada and has been
charged with selecting the artists and songs that will represent
the these countries in the festival. Together with artists
from 24 other nations, the U.S. artist and the Canadian artist
will perform his or her song live in Guatemala before an
international panel of judges that will select the five top songs.
The deadline for submissions is October 23, 2003.
Preselection of the artist that will represent the U.S. and the
artist that will represent Canada will be announced on October 27,
2003. The selected artists are responsible for travel
arrangements to Guatemala. Eventos Católicos will provide
accommodations, meals and transportation in Guatemala. Artists who
would like to participate should adhere to the following
guidelines:

The language of the song may be either Spanish or English.
PARTICIPATION
Participants may only submit once. They can be soloists,
duets, trios or quartets.
SONGS
Submitted songs must be original and new (released within the last
year). Length must not surpass 4 minutes.
ACCOMPANIMENT
Participants will only be allowed to sing to a professional mixed
track of their song.
AWARDS
Awards will be granted to the top five songs.
PARTICIPANTING COUNTRIES
Eventos Catolicos will provide accommodations for representatives
and participants, as well as transportation during their stay.
Each participant shall make their own travel arrangements to and
from Guatemala.

SUCCESS FOR THE CONTINENTALS
This summer
hundreds of concerts were done by the Continentals (age 16-35) and
Young Continentals (age 13-16) all accross Europe. There were
Dutch groups on the road, German groups, a Francophone group,
English groups, Slowak groups, Hungarian groups, Romanian groups,
USA-groups....
The Continentals were performing XP3, and the Young Continentals
did EXTREME. Both programs had as theme the power of God. And the
outworking of music, theme, message, testimonies were very
powerful.........God was at work and many audiences could be
reached with the gospel.
The Continentals do not perform black gospel music, but "Contemporary
Christian Music"; The Continentals are the oldest music
ministry who developed a global mission: During 35 years, over
1500 tours, over 25.000 concerts reaching over 10 million visitors,
over 100 different albums/CD¹s produced.
At the moment preparations start for auditions, sothat many
talented christians from all over Europe can join the
upcoming projects in autumn, winter, spring and summer-2004; appr.26
tours are on schedule, each tourproject is 2-4 weeks. AND
preparations start to find the 300 local churches to organise
these evangelistic concerts all accross Europe,from UK till Greece
and from Finland/Norway till Spain and Italy.

Festival de la Canción Mariana
Buenos
Aires, SET 29 (AICA): Los jóvenes de la Legión de María de la
vicaría Devoto, organizan el XII Festival de la Canción Mariana,
que tendrá lugar el 8 de noviembre, a partir de las 16, en la
parroquia Santa Julia, Juan Bautista Alberdi y Víctor Martínez,
de esta ciudad. Quienes quieran participar deberán inscribirse en
