THE FIRST CHRISTIAN MUSIC OSCARS WERE GIVEN

In the splendid set of Villa Borghese, in Rome, the first Golden Graal were given. They are the first Oscar prizes for Christian music artists and other personalities ( writers, journalists, social workers) who have particularly promoted and put forward the message of the evangelisation through music.
 
The awarding of the prizes have been held during the event called “Kristianamente Musika”, organised by Prime Time Promotions with the collaboration of Papaboys Internet site ( www.papaboys.it
), Informusic (http://www.informusic.it ), Christian music agency and the national association Il mio Dio Canta giovane ( www.ilmiodiocantagiovane.it  ) . Daniele Venturi and MariaRita Viaggi presented the event held on 22th December at the Christmas Village. The Golden Graal in its first edition was given to people who particularly emerged in the fields of music, fiction, Information and TV.
For the music section some of the most important representatives of Contemporary Christian Music were given a prize. Sr Cristina Damonte,  Pauline singer and songwriter, dedicated a song to don Alberione, recently beatified by John Paul II. Don Giosi Cento, sang his most famous song “Viaggio nella Vita”. The “Christian Rocker” Roberto Bignoli proposed his classical song “Concerto a Sarajevo”, a hymn to peace and brotherhood among the people.
The group Albatros of Civitacastellana (VT), Don Matteo Zambuto, president of the association “Il mio Dio canta giovane”, with the group Laetitia Domini and the dance priest Don Mimmo Iervolino conquered the audience with their sparkling songs.
Marcello Marrocchi’s performance,  with his song called “Un Uomo venuto da lontano” and dedicated to John Paul II, was mostly appreciated.
For the essay genre the writer Carlo Climati received the Golden Graal. He is the author of the books “ I giovani e l’esoterismo” and “Il popolo  della notte” (Pauline editition), translated in many languages in various parts of the world. When receiving the prize, Climati proposed a message of hope, reminding that the world is not hopelessly bad, but it waits to become better with our everyday commitment.
In the Information sector two journalists received the prize: Giuseppe DeCarli, vatican journalist of TG1 , who followed the Pope in his travelling, and Paolo Picone, Director of Agenews agency that produces on line Age Chiesa ( www.agechiesa.it )
Again in the information sector a prize was given to the review “30 days in the Church and in the world” and to Fides agency of the congregation for the evangelisation of people.
Then, in the TV section two programmes received the Golden Graal “A Sua imagine” of RAI Uno, presented by Lorena Bianchetti, and “Cristianità” presented by sr Myriam Castelli, on RAI International.
During the evening two welcomed surprised received the audience applause. First don Marco Frisina, director of the Liturgical Office of the Vicariate played on the piano the soundtrack of the film for the TV “Papa Giovanni”. Then, Mons Milingo came back to the stage with a song dedicated to our Lady.
Among the other performances we remember the community of our Lady of Czestochowa, that presented two scenes of “Forza Venite Gente” musical, Alex the King, Don Mario Costanzi, Padre Rodald la Barrera (Perù) and  Angelina’s videoclip (USA).
The evening ended with a moving version of “Oh happy Day” by Aurelio Pitino and all the artists on the stage. They meant to dedicate this evening to a great collegue  who recently has died. Marcello Giombini.
The date is now for next year, with the second edition of the Golden Graal, which wants to represent an acknowledgment for all those people who have permitted their art to become an instrument in the hands of solidarity and of the Gospel
