MANACH
Manach is Seamus
Byrne, composer of the very popular The Healer, a classici in
music for relaxation and meditation. He
performs internationally, his concerts imbueing his audiences with
a wonderful appreciation for culture, spirituality and art in the
very best sense. His melodic, Irish vocal style is at once
soothing and inspiring and his haunting wooden flute-playing
brings his listeners to "another place". To
offset the deeply meditative and peaceful effect of his music,
Manach plays a lively bodhran (Irish skin drum) which will have
you dancing in your seat! He lives a contemplative, monastic
lifestyle among the beautiful Wicklow mountains on the east coast
of Ireland. His passion is for the spirit of the Irish monks who
lived in Ireland from 500 - 1000 AD. The ancient spirit and
timeless wisdom of this era comes across in his Prayer Songs, a
style of singing and musicianship which is enthralling and
uplifting. The music of manach is all about the search for oneself
and one's spirit in an experience of culture and art. He was born
in Dublin. Always interested in music , his love for writing
developed as he grew older, culminating in the release of a series
of very popular Relaxation/Meditation musical compositions, the
most notable of which is the Healer. He enjoys playing the
traditional wooden flaute. Indeed his great grandfather, Patrick
Nolan, was an all-Ireland Champion traditional flute player. Along
with music composition he enjoys being out in the wild
recording Nature Environments and he blends them in a unique way
with his own compositions. He has been a featured speaker on
national radio and his music enjoys international airplay. Music
and sound eventually led him to become interested in bringing not
only audio, but also beautiful visual images to people. He became
involved in various film and video productions, sometimes as actor,
sometimes as director. His first documentary was Glendalough - a
mystical Journey a program that has been broadcast in the USA and
AUSTRALIA. His second was Gabrielle's journey. He composed the
soundtracks for both of these. Currently
Seamus performs internationally using the artist name "MANACH"
(the irish for "monk"), his haunting vocal and
