RIVADOLMO'S CONCERT 2002


1° ITALIAN PARISH ORGANIZES FIRST "CANTAGIOVANI," NEW INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN MUSIC FESTIVAL

Rivadolmo, Apr 3 (special)- The Parish of Rivadolmo is organizing the first annual International Concert of Christian Music, "Cantagiovani," to take place  parish in Rivadolmo The event is the result of the ideas of some of the parish faithful who have been touched by the lyrics and the testimony of faith on the part of some song composers, and who have strongly wanted to create this moment of evangelization for young people.  The objective is to speak of God and of faith in God with the language they know best and follow: music.

Roberto Bignoli, recent winner of two Unity Awards (the world Oscar of Christian music) will be the artistic director.  Thanks to him, Italians and foreigners famous in the world of Christian music will sing there.


From outside Italy will come three ladies:  Angelina Davis, a 13 years-old from Mississippi who has a great talent of song, is gifted with a profound spirituality, and has recorded seven CD's. 

From California comes the respected singer Donna Lee, who offers delicate and spiritual songs accompanied by her guitar. 

From Nicaragua but residing in Miami comes Sara Torres, a singer who interprets her beloved Latin American music.

From Italy will come Don Mimmo Iervolino, a priest dancer from the Region of Campania, who brings all the warmth and gestures, singing and dancing praises to God.  At this time his new CD, "Jesus on line," has been released; it brings together music, dance, and texts of absolute spirituality, produced by the Messenger of St. Antonio of Padua.  

Roberto Bignoli, recent winner of two prizes in the US, corresponding to an Oscar for Christian music, in addition to being the artistic director, will also sing in Rivadolmo with his splendid voice joined with that of J.J. Cale, to witness to his faith.

From Cremona comes Marco Bonini, a layman involved in charitable works, who places his song and musical gifts at the disposition of the cause of the Lord, choosing music that ranges from rock to rap. 

From Genoa comes the group Mt 5,13, a group of young dancers and singers who, in addition to their music, offer dance and joy as a testimony of their faith and who take part in dancing with the young people who follow them. 

From Liguria comes also the presenter of this event, Piergiorgio Bussani, known and appreciated in various festivals that have developed throughout Italy.
